What we’ve delivered
so far in Medway
Peel Waters has been an important force in driving growth and progress in Medway for a decade. The ongoing development at Chatham Waters is a testament to our commitment. Over the years, Peel has successfully created a new mixed use community, including new homes, the UTC and a variety of leisure and retail spaces. We’ve also delivered new road infrastructure, flood defences, and a variety of inviting public space, including the first part of the waterfront promenade along the edge of the basin. Here's a glimpse of some of our notable development highlights:

What’s been delivered?
- £125 million has been invested into Chatham Waters so far.
- 750 jobs have been created.

Places to Live
- 391 homes have been completed on site.
- 237 additional affordable homes will be completed by Summer ’24.
- 74 Elderly living homes will be under construction by the start of 2024.

Places to study
- The Waterfront UTC finished construction in 201
- 230 students currently study there.
- Students are regularly working on projects at Chatham Waters, through work experience opportunities, placements and ongoing employment opportunities.

Places to enjoy
- Phase one of our infrastructure works has been completed, this includes our high-quality public realm, improved roads and the creation of new ponds and parks to support local biodiversity and access to nature.
- The waterfront promenade created, opening up the waterfront and starting to be utilised for events.
- Mast and Rigging pub & restaurant and Asda Superstore with petrol station; a new Londis has now opened.
